Falsehood's Fauns
(a Terza Rima 14-line sonnet: an homage to Dante Alighieri and Percy Shelley)

Trump's tiny troupe of toadies trample Truth.
On social media they spew their bile.
The least crude name for them would be "uncouth."

More properly, the name for them is "vile."
They bow before the idol of their cult.
His goal: the simple minded to beguile.

The sycophants surrounding Him exult
in telling Him the Lies He longs to hear
without concerns that Lies would just insult

a stronger mind -- and finish their career.
To wind up mowing someone else's lawns
and lose their access to The Great Cashier

describes the terror motivating Don's
enablers: that which makes them Falsehood's Fauns.
